Armenia’s Health Ministry says 3 hospitalized after Ushi crash

The death toll from the collision at Armenia’s Ushi bends has risen to 9, photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan said, as cited by the news site close to the governing Civil Contract party, Civic.am. The news site also said 3 people were injured. An earlier account put the death toll at 8.

Armenia’s Health Ministry said after the November 3 collision that the injured people had been taken to a medical center. They were taken to Armenia Medical Center.

Emergency response and treatment

The Rescue Service said the Aragatsotn regional emergency center received a call at 20:55 Yerevan time on 3 November about a collision on the Aparan–Ashtarak highway near Ohanavan. Rescuers and police were dispatched to the scene. A Jeep Compass, an Opel Zafira, a Chevrolet Volt and a truck with a trailer were involved.

In its November 3 statement, the Health Ministry said one patient was in extremely serious condition in intensive care, another was undergoing surgery, and the third was in moderately serious condition and undergoing examinations.
