Papoyan said 148,000 flowers had been exported by August 10, 2026. In remarks published October 28, he put the count near 160,000 and said he plans to increase shipments further.
Armenia’s Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan said flower exports to the United Arab Emirates had approached 160,000, up from 148,000 as of August 10, 2026. He gave the figures during a parliamentary question-and-answer session with the government, news.am said in an October 28 report. Papoyan said the pace of exports was increasing.
In July, Papoyan wrote that Armenian flowers had entered the UAE market, particularly Dubai. The Fact Investigation Platform said his wording could suggest this was a first export. The trade statistics it examined recorded shipments to the UAE as early as 2022.
| Period | Pieces |
|---|---|
| 2022 | 6,415 |
| 2025 | 279,300 |
| January–March 2026 | 110,600 |
Armenia’s State Revenue Committee also recorded exports separately by weight: 210 kilograms in 2025 and 903 kilograms in January–March 2026. Those amounts are not included in the piece counts. The full-year, three-month and August figures cover different periods, so they do not establish a year-on-year growth rate for UAE exports.

Analysis
Papoyan’s assessment of rising exports concerns the UAE. In September, he said Armenia had exported 30.1 million flowers to all destinations by August 1, 2026, about 27% fewer than the 39 million exported by the same date in 2025, as Sputnik Armenia reported.
Papoyan said he plans to increase flower exports to the UAE beyond the count approaching 160,000.
