Galatasaray beat Stuttgart in Istanbul on 3 November, with Aleksei Batrakov scoring in the 12th and 15th minutes. The game was one of the early results on the first day of matchday 4 in the 2026/27 Champions League league phase, where clubs share a table.
An earlier Guardian interim table placed Sporting fifth with 9 points and Galatasaray 14th with 6, both after 4 games.
The later results put Paris Saint-Germain 3 points clear at the top with a perfect record. The standings remained provisional because the matchday was not complete.
Barcelona ends Villa’s perfect start
Aston Villa had won its first 3 league-phase games before losing at Camp Nou. Barcelona’s victory brought both teams level on 9 points.
Lamine Yamal opened the scoring in the 7th minute. His 14th Champions League goal made him the competition’s highest scorer under 20, passing Kylian Mbappé’s previous mark of 13. Raphinha added goals in the 52nd and 64th minutes.
Raphinha’s seventh Champions League double took him to 19 goals in 13 appearances for Barcelona this season. Barcelona also kept its first Champions League clean sheet in 19 games.
Armsport reports that Raphinha’s 23 Champions League goals for Barcelona took him past Rivaldo into fourth place in the club’s scoring list. ESPN instead says he is level with Robert Lewandowski, behind only Lionel Messi on 120 and Luis Suárez on 25.
Midfielder Rodri started but was replaced by Marc Bernal at halftime. Flick told Marca that Rodri had muscular discomfort and that a definite assessment had to wait for examination results. Flick said Barcelona had 4 days to recover and prepare for Atlético Madrid.
Paris Saint-Germain scores four early goals
Paris Saint-Germain beat Villarreal 6–0 in Spain. The Guardian reports that PSG reached four goals by the 17th minute, the fastest four-goal start in a Champions League match.
Stats Foot says Paris Saint-Germain became the first club to score 4 goals in an 8-minute span in a Champions League match. João Neves scored in the 9th minute, followed by Desiré Doué in the 12th, Senny Mayulu in the 13th and Fabián Ruiz in the 17th.
United turns around two-goal deficit
Manchester United ended a 9-game winless run after trailing Roma 2–0 at halftime. Bruno Fernandes converted a retaken penalty in the 58th minute, and Matheus Cunha scored twice in the final 10 minutes. Substitute Shea Lacey set up the winning goal; Cunha was sent off in stoppage time for a second yellow card.
Matìas Soulè put Roma ahead in the 11th minute and Donyell Malen doubled the lead from the penalty spot seven minutes later. Roma goalkeeper Devis Vásquez saved Fernandes’s initial penalty in the 57th minute, but referee Jesus Gil Manzano ordered a retake for encroachment; Fernandes converted it.
It was United’s second win in four Champions League games, lifting the club provisionally to 17th in the league-phase table. ESPN reports that it was United’s first Champions League comeback from two goals down since October 2021.
Before the comeback, some United fans threw tennis balls onto the field in protest, causing a brief delay. Players removed them.

Bayern’s Lennart Karl and Konrad Laimer scored after halftime in Madrid. Bayern remained unbeaten with 8 points from 4 matches.
