France won gold in men’s rugby sevens at the 2026 Youth Olympic Games, France 24 said. France had previously won the title in 2014 and took silver four years later.
Four members of the youth squad had also been in the French team that won the European Championship in Prague in July 2026. Before the Games, France coach Thomas Darracq said his team was aiming for the top.

Ireland beat Wales 68–28, France beat New Zealand 120–10 and Australia beat Scotland 104–24 to join England in the semi-finals. The final group games will decide the pairings.
