Indonesia cut pipeline gas exports to Singapore by 9% on October 23, citing domestic shortages. The government defended the reduction on October 26, Fortune said.
Singapore’s minister of energy, trade and industry, Tan See Leng, said on October 25 that the lost deliveries represent less than 2% of the power sector’s daily gas demand, and that Singapore has sufficient replacement gas from other sources, including liquefied natural gas (LNG).
