Israel has extended restrictions on Al Jazeera’s operations for another 90 days, the media network said in its November 2 statement. The restrictions cover the suspension of broadcasts, closure of offices and limits on access to its websites and digital platforms within Israel.
The original shutdown followed a law allowing the temporary closure of foreign broadcasters considered a threat to national security. Al Jazeera said a court in Tel Aviv approved the Israeli government’s latest extension the week before its statement.
Al Jazeera alleges that the extension relied on secret material that neither the network nor its lawyers were allowed to see or answer, denying it a genuine opportunity to defend itself. It rejected the allegations used to justify the ban and called for its immediate lifting. The network also characterized the restrictions as an assault on press freedom and the public’s right to information.
The network said it was reviewing the decision with legal counsel and reserved the right to pursue appropriate legal measures. It said it would continue reporting from its bureaus around the world.

The sale totaled $8.94 million, with 88.2% of offered lots sold. Christie’s record announcement includes medium-specific results and auction debuts, setting benchmarks for those artists.
