The beauty group says GLP-1 weight-loss medicines are influencing skincare consumption as it targets concerns about loose skin after rapid weight loss.

L’Oréal reported on 22 October that sales rose 7.7% in the three months to September, beating analyst expectations. The beauty group’s head, Nicolas Hieronimus, described the beauty market as resilient in a challenging global environment, the BBC reported.
The result comes as GLP-1 medicines, a class of drugs used for diabetes and weight loss, have grown in popularity. Hieronimus told investors that their increased use was affecting beauty consumption, particularly skincare. The 7.7% figure measures L’Oréal’s overall sales growth, not the contribution from GLP-1 users.
Rapid weight loss can leave some people with loose skin, including around the face. That change is associated with the weight loss itself, rather than being a direct effect of GLP-1 drugs.
Hieronimus said L’Oréal has products designed to complement GLP-1 use and address skin sagging and other effects associated with rapid weight loss. He described what the products were designed to do, rather than announcing clinical findings about their effectiveness.
L’Oréal increased its stake in dermatology company Galderma to 20% in December 2025, expanding its involvement in cosmetic skin treatments. Both companies have been testing products in separate clinical trials involving GLP-1 users concerned about loose skin, the BBC reported, citing Reuters.
