Financial data group LSEG has agreed to acquire Octus, the credit intelligence, data and workflow software provider, Octus confirmed. Fortune reports that the all-cash deal values Octus at $3.535 billion and that Permira is the seller.
Permira acquired Octus in 2022, according to Fortune.
Octus supplies credit professionals with news, research, structured data and software for managing their work. Its credit intelligence helps users assess borrowers and debt investments. The company says its coverage follows credit deals from new lending through distressed debt, where borrowers face financial difficulty.
Octus says joining LSEG would pair its credit expertise, proprietary data and workflow tools with LSEG’s fixed-income data, analytics and global reach. Fixed-income services cover debt investments such as bonds.
Octus says its platform, content and team remain unchanged for now. Octus and LSEG will continue operating as separate companies until the transaction closes.
Octus expects the acquisition to close in the first half of 2027, subject to regulatory approvals.
