Following private-market products introduced in selected European Economic Area countries in July 2026, Revolut plans a new route for eligible customers to invest in unlisted technology companies in 2027.
Revolut plans to launch Revolut Ventures in its app in 2027, giving eligible customers a way to invest in technology companies whose shares are not listed on a stock exchange. Euronews Business said the planned platform would sit alongside the app’s existing investment options, including stocks, funds and bonds.
The plan follows Revolut’s introduction of private-market investment products in selected European Economic Area countries in July 2026. Those products were introduced then; Revolut Ventures is a platform planned for 2027.
Revolut cited figures showing that the median age of private technology companies when they listed on a stock exchange rose from 6.9 years in 2014 to 11 years in 2025. Its case for the platform is that customers could invest before those companies become publicly traded.
That access carries different risks from buying publicly traded shares. Investments in private companies can be harder to sell, and investors could lose a substantial part or all of the money they put in.
Revolut told Jornal PT50 that customers would have to pass two in-app checks covering their tolerance for risk, investment knowledge and ability to bear losses. Customers who do not pass would be unable to view or make the investments.
Revolut said it would confirm its exact eligibility criteria later. It has not specified which markets will have access, minimum investment amounts, fees or how customers could exit investments through the platform planned for 2027.
The satellite operator expects access to more than twice OneWeb’s current bandwidth in return for spending in 2027–2034, with initial IRIS² services expected from 2030.
