Google confirmed on 3 November 2026, that a fix had been rolled out for Android Auto issues on Samsung Galaxy devices running One UI 9. Some owners had reported stuttering or complete connection failures after installing the update.
The reports appeared as Samsung expanded the stable rollout of One UI 9, which is based on Android 17. 9to5Google said the reports suggested a pattern but that the problem did not appear massively widespread. They appeared on Reddit and on Samsung’s and Google’s forums.
In one user test found by Android Authority, a Galaxy S25 Edge running One UI 8.5 had no problems, while a Galaxy S24 Ultra running One UI 9 reproduced the reported issues. The comparison was not scientific: both the phones and their software versions differed, so it could not establish whether the update caused the problems.

Google says the operation also cut off access to at least 10 million additional compromised devices. It banned Videostrong and future affiliates from producing certified Android devices or supplying software to certified manufacturers.
