Democrat Troy Jackson has defeated Republican Senator Susan Collins in Maine, flipping her US Senate seat to the Democrats. Collins was a longtime incumbent who had survived previous challenges.
Deadline said multiple networks reported that Collins called Jackson to concede. CNN also projected Jackson’s victory.

Susan Collins conceded the race in a written statement, saying she had called Troy Jackson to congratulate him, Fox News reported. Collins said she assured Jackson that she and her staff would work to ensure a smooth transition.
