The US president’s announced cutoff would come before the current security assistance agreement, which provides about $3.8 billion a year through 2028, expires.

President Donald Trump said on 3 November 2026, that US aid to Israel, which he put at $4 billion, would end at the close of the year. The announcement would end assistance earlier than the current US–Israel security assistance agreement, which provides about $3.8 billion annually through 2028.
Speaking on Fox & Friends, Trump argued that Israel no longer needs the assistance and can buy its own weapons. He described the support as military aid, cash or barter.
Trump said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had raised the idea of ending the assistance and that the two had discussed it for years. Netanyahu had previously said he wanted to phase out Israel’s reliance on US military aid.
The terms and timing of any change to the existing agreement have not been detailed.
