The startup says the IVP-led financing will support product development and expansion after its September shift from app building toward a superintelligence (SI) messenger.

Wabi, the personal-agent startup founded by Eugenia Kuyda, said on October 29, 2026 that it had raised $55 million at a $1.25 billion valuation in a round led by IVP.
The financing follows Wabi’s September 28 announcement that it was shifting from a tool for building apps through written requests toward a superintelligence (SI) messenger. Kuyda previously founded Replika, an SI companion startup.
Other participating firms and funds included Andreessen Horowitz, also known as a16z, Forerunner and Amazon Alexa Fund. Individual investors included Tobi Lütke, Marc Benioff, Marissa Mayer, Dick Costolo and Alex Pall.
In a November 5, 2025 investment announcement, a16z said it was leading Wabi’s $20 million pre-seed round, an early stage of startup financing. At that point, it described Wabi as a platform where people could request an app and change its interface rather than edit code.
IVP general partner Alex Lim said in a statement cited by TechCrunch that Kuyda had strong judgment about where SI was heading and a vision for interaction beyond a text box or command line. Those were his reasons for backing her venture.
The messenger direction does not drop app creation. Wabi’s stated aim is for its personal agent—an assistant intended to carry out tasks—to build small, task-specific tools within conversations. Instead of creating an app as the main activity, users would ask for help and get an interface suited to the task.
Wabi says those mini-apps can be revisited and changed over time. Its examples include a shared restaurant list and a weekly meal plan that becomes a grocery list, giving people tools they can keep using beyond a single chat.

Wabi describes early demand as strong and says friends have used the service to discover music and run fitness challenges. Its funding announcement did not include user totals, figures showing how many people return, revenue or measurements of how reliably it completes tasks.
Wabi says the new capital will fund continued product development and expansion. It has not detailed how it will divide the money or set an expansion timetable. The company also says a Windows version is coming soon, without announcing a release date.
