FIFA has more than doubled preparation funding for each team at the 2027 Women’s World Cup in Brazil to $2.5 million, the Guardian reports. All 32 participating national teams will receive the allocation, matching the amount provided to teams at the 2026 men’s World Cup.
The increase brings the total preparation budget to $80 million, up from $31 million at the previous women’s tournament in 2023.

Every player will be guaranteed business-class or charter flights and an individual hotel room rather than a shared room. FIFA says these provisions will bring travel and accommodation arrangements into line with those at the men’s World Cup.
Business-class travel was not universal at the 2023 Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. According to the Guardian, a survey by the players’ union Fifpro after that tournament found a lower share of players flew business class on their return journeys than on their outbound flights.
