BBC Sport reports that doubles world number one Siniakova and 2023 champion Ashlyn Krueger will meet for the women’s singles title in Osaka on Sunday.
BBC Sport reports that doubles world number one Siniakova and 2023 champion Ashlyn Krueger will meet for the women’s singles title in Osaka on Sunday.

Siniakova and Ashlyn Krueger reached the Japan Open women’s singles final in Osaka by beating Katie Boulter and top seed Ann Li respectively, BBC Sport reported.
Krueger won the tournament in 2023. Siniakova, the doubles world number one, is seeking her first singles title in four years, according to BBC Sport.
| Winner | Opponent | Score |
|---|---|---|
| Siniakova | Katie Boulter | 6–1, 6–4 |
| Ashlyn Krueger | Ann Li | 6–4, 6–7 (4–7), 6–3 |
Boulter, seeded eighth, recovered from losing the opening set to take an early lead in the second by winning a game on Siniakova’s serve. Siniakova then won two games on Boulter’s serve to complete the victory in 85 minutes. Krueger needed a deciding third set after Li won the second-set tie-break.
Sonny Kartal moved above Boulter in the world rankings by reaching the previous week’s Wuhan Open final. BBC Sport projects that Boulter’s semi-final run in Osaka will put her back above Kartal as British number one when the rankings are next updated; that change is still forthcoming.
Siniakova and Krueger are scheduled to contest the Japan Open title on Sunday, according to BBC Sport.

The 64-minute victory in Osaka gives the Czech player her sixth career singles title and her first since 2023.
