Running backs coach Todd Goebbel is appointed interim head coach for the rest of the season after a three-win, four-loss start.

NC State dismissed head American football coach Dave Doeren on October 24, 2026, the school announced, ending his 14-year tenure after a start of three wins and four losses.
The decision followed a 31–28 loss at Stanford on Friday. Doeren took over in 2013 and leaves with 95 wins and 70 losses, making him the coach with the most wins in NC State’s history.
ESPN said Doeren is owed $10.3 million and had three years remaining on his contract.
The school named running backs coach Todd Goebbel as interim head coach for the remainder of the season. NC State said it would begin a nationwide search for Doeren’s permanent replacement.

The 16-year-old was sent off at Fleetwood in his second start of the season, leaving Arsenal short of wing options before Sunday’s trip to Liverpool.
