Nintendo launched the Nintendo Switch 2 – The Legend of Zelda – 40th Anniversary Edition on October 29, 2026, priced at $519.99, Polygon said.
Nintendo announced the anniversary hardware during a showcase in September. Preorders opened in early September and sold out almost immediately.
The special edition gives the console and its matching controllers a black, gold and green design. Triangle-shaped decals surround two Zelda emblems: the Triforce symbol and the Hylian Crest.
The anniversary commemorates the original The Legend of Zelda, the first game in Nintendo’s series, which launched in Japan on February 21, 1986.
Polygon said Nintendo replenished its online store on launch day, but the console was showing as out of stock shortly after the company announced renewed availability.
