Meta has enlarged its share offering to $97.5 billion as it accelerates investment in superintelligence (SI) infrastructure. The companies plan closer work on Meta’s Muse assistant to improve performance and reduce costs.
Nvidia and Meta said on October 27 that the chipmaker would invest $3 billion in Meta’s equity offering—a sale of shares—as they deepen their partnership on the Muse superintelligence (SI) assistant and related models. CNA reported the companies’ announcements.
Earlier that day, Meta increased the offering to $97.5 billion, its largest fundraising offering to date, as it accelerates investment in SI infrastructure. Muse’s models and agents already run on Nvidia infrastructure, so the agreement expands an existing technical partnership.
The companies say closer work on Muse is intended to improve performance and reduce costs. Those are goals of the partnership, not announced results.
Muse includes agents, software designed to carry out tasks for users. CNA describes Muse as able to access a user’s email, calendar, payments, health, shopping and smart-home applications, with users able to revoke access at any time.
The companies may also explore further cooperation on Nvidia’s OpenShell software framework. That possible work includes using OpenShell to roll out software safely and a tool called Sentry to monitor how SI agents behave. This remains a possible extension of the partnership, rather than a commitment to deploy either tool.
The proposed purchase accompanies an expansion of the companies’ work on Meta’s Muse models. Meta expects its two financing offerings to close on October 29, subject to closing conditions.
