Shein to invest €500 million in Polish logistics hub

The online fashion retailer says the expansion will bring its total workforce near Wroclaw above 10,000 by the end of 2026, as it seeks faster deliveries.

Shein said on 4 November that it would invest €500 million (about $562 million) to expand its European logistics hub near Wroclaw, Poland. The online fashion retailer said it was seeking faster deliveries and more flexibility in its operations.

The plan follows European Union parcel charges introduced in July, to which Shein is adapting. The EU initially imposed a €3 fee on parcels worth less than €150 and increased it by €2 on 1 November. The EU said the charges were intended to curb what it considers unfair competition from online retailers.

Workforce and delivery plans

Shein said the expanded hub would have a total workforce of more than 10,000 people and 6,500 autonomous robots by the end of 2026. The workforce figure is a planned total, not a count of new jobs, CNA reported.

Customers in certain markets will receive products stored at the hub within 48 hours.
