Spider-Man: Brand New Day ranks third among the highest-grossing films worldwide, behind Avatar and Avengers: Endgame. It leads the domestic box-office ranking and remains in theaters, making its grosses running totals rather than final receipts.
| Market | Gross | All-time rank |
|---|---|---|
| Worldwide | $2.5 billion | Third |
| Domestic | $958 million | First |
Domestic box office means receipts from the United States and Canada; worldwide receipts also include international markets.
The film opened domestically on 31 July 2026. Distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing, it is the fourth Spider-Man film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, following Spider-Man: No Way Home, with Tom Holland returning as Peter Parker and Spider-Man.
Sony reportedly plans an extended cut
Separately, Polygon, citing Deadline, said Sony plans a theatrical rerelease with additional footage. The proposed version would restore an appearance by Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, also known as Night Nurse.
Dawson previously played Temple in shows including Daredevil. She has said in interviews that she filmed a scene for Brand New Day that was cut from its theatrical release.
Sony has previously released an extended cut of Spider-Man: Far From Home and a More Fun Stuff Version of Spider-Man: No Way Home. The latter included deleted scenes and reached theaters in September 2022.
Polygon puts Brand New Day’s worldwide gap behind Avatar at $428 million and considers it unlikely that a rerelease would lift the film into first place.
If the rerelease proceeds, the restored Temple appearance would not be its only addition: Deadline’s report also promises “more surprises in the extra footage,” without identifying them.
