UFC Vegas 123: Lebosnoyani beats Hasanov by doctor-stoppage TKO

Jean-Paul Lebosnoyani beat Farman Hasanov by technical knockout after their fight was stopped on a doctor’s advice at 2:11 of the third round at UFC Vegas 123.

Sportaran said the welterweight bout took place in Las Vegas on the night of 1 November. MMA Fighting placed the card at Meta APEX in Las Vegas on Saturday night. Sportaran reported that Lebosnoyani controlled the striking exchanges and repeatedly landed accurate punches to Hasanov’s head. All three judges awarded Lebosnoyani the first two rounds. The doctor advised stopping the fight because Hasanov had suffered a severe facial cut, and the defeat was Hasanov’s first as a professional, leaving him with a 5–1 record. Lebosnoyani has won all three of his UFC fights and has a 12–2 professional record. Sportaran identifies Lebosnoyani as Armenian-American and says his Armenian roots come through his father, Nerses Bosnoyan, a Brazilian jiu-jitsu coach.

UFC named Tom Nolan, Lucia Szabová, Joe Kropschot and Julian Erosa its Performance of the Night bonus winners in its November 1 account of the event.

Four finishes earn bonuses

In the lightweight main event, Nolan beat Renato Moicano by technical knockout at 1:28 of the third round. After Moicano took him down, Nolan reversed position and landed punches and elbows until the referee stopped the fight.

Szabová stopped Tainara Lisboa with ground strikes at 3:20 of the third round. Kropschot submitted Nick Klein with an armbar at 1:25 of the second round; an armbar is a hold that forces an opponent to submit by applying pressure to the arm.

UFC’s preliminary result line lists Kropschot’s finish in the third round, but its account of the fight and its bonus account place it in the second.

Erosa ended his 45-fight mixed martial arts career by knocking out JeongYeong Lee with punches at 1:31 of the first round, UFC said.
