The decision concerns incorrectly uploaded paperwork for Issa Kabore and late documents for unused substitute Callum O’Hare. Wrexham says it is taking steps to prevent further breaches.
The English Football League (EFL) has fined Wrexham £75,000 for two player-eligibility breaches, suspending £25,000 of the total. The league ruled Issa Kabore and Callum O’Hare ineligible for separate matches because of documentation failures, BBC Sport said. Wrexham confirmed it had reached an agreed decision with the league.
Both incidents followed permanent transfers to Wrexham. Kabore had spent the previous season on loan at the club before returning from Manchester City on the eve of the Birmingham match. O’Hare joined from Sheffield United on 1 September 2026, the day before the Millwall match.

The 16-year-old was sent off at Fleetwood in his second start of the season, leaving Arsenal short of wing options before Sunday’s trip to Liverpool.

An unnamed Wrexham official told BBC Sport Wales that manager Phil Parkinson, the coaching staff and sporting director Steve Nickson were not responsible for the incidents. Nickson was officially appointed on 7 September, after both matches.
Wrexham said it was taking appropriate steps to prevent further breaches. BBC Sport said the club was thought to be hiring a club secretary and improving administrative training.
The appeal tribunal removed an additional suspended spectator ban, but each club must still play its next home Scottish Cup tie without fans and pay the visiting side £100,000.
