Apple released iOS 18.7.11 and iPadOS 18.7.11 on October 26, 2026, extending a previously issued security fix to older iPhones and iPads, 9to5Mac said in its account of Apple’s security advisories.
Apple first addressed the flaw in September, when it warned that the issue may have been exploited in an extremely sophisticated attack against specific targeted individuals using versions of iOS before iOS 27. The October releases bring that fix to devices still running iOS 18 and iPadOS 18.
The CoreGraphics flaw, identified as CVE-2026-86950, could allow a specially crafted malicious file to trigger arbitrary code execution—meaning the device could run code chosen by an attacker.
| Update | Supported devices |
|---|---|
| iOS 18.7.11 | iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR |
| iPadOS 18.7.11 | Seventh-generation iPad |
Across Apple’s wider October 26 software releases, 9to5Mac counted 329 unique security vulnerabilities addressed. That figure counts flaws fixed, not flaws known to have been exploited.
Owners of the listed devices still running version 18 can get the CoreGraphics fix through the corresponding 18.7.11 update.
