Capcom reported net sales of ¥120.8 billion for the six months ended September 30, 2026, up 49% year on year. Net income rose 56.6% to ¥43 billion, with the business that includes its games driving the growth.
Total game sales reached 36.86 million copies, compared with 23.85 million in the same period of the previous fiscal year. GamesIndustry.biz covered the half-year results on October 29.
Games business leads growth
Capcom’s Digital Contents business, which includes games, generated ¥85.1 billion in net sales and ¥52.3 billion in operating profit. Both measures grew faster than the company’s overall results.
| Measure | Capcom total | Year-on-year growth | Digital Contents | Year-on-year growth |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Net sales | ¥120.8 | 49% | ¥85.1 | 70.8% |
| Operating profit | ¥60.7 | 54.5% | ¥52.3 | 66.7% |
New releases and older games support sales
Resident Evil, Pragmata, Monster Hunter and Onimusha drove sales during the period. Resident Evil Requiem launched in February, followed by Pragmata in April and Onimusha: Way of the Sword on September 4.
Older games also contributed: continuing sales growth for Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 2 supported revenue.
Sales of earlier Monster Hunter games increased after Capcom announced the release window for the Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance expansion and confirmed that it and Monster Hunter Wilds would come to Nintendo Switch 2. Capcom attributed Devil May Cry 5's sales performance to its Switch 2 rollout and pricing strategies aligned with the Netflix series.
Capcom said it is continuing to coordinate its games and esports activities—organized competitive gaming—to increase recognition of its brands and expand its player base.
