Disney and UK broadcaster Channel 4 have signed an agreement to bring Channel 4’s main TV channel and on-demand programming to Disney+ in the UK and Ireland. Disney+ executive Karl Holmes says 16–34-year-olds accounted for around 40% of the service’s viewing over the past year, part of the partners’ rationale for reaching different audiences.
The launch is planned for early 2027, with access included in existing Disney+ subscriptions at no extra cost. The agreement follows Disney+ deals with other major European broadcasters.
Holmes, Disney+’s general manager for Europe, the Middle East and Africa in October 2026, told Deadline that Disney+ viewing skewed younger than that of public-service broadcasters such as Channel 4.
Priya Dogra, Channel 4’s chief executive in October 2026, said the two services had little audience overlap. Holmes described the partnership as complementary and said it would help broadcasters whose channels are free to watch reach a broader audience.
Subscribers will be able to watch Channel 4’s scheduled main channel in high definition directly within Disney+. The on-demand catalogue will add hundreds of hours of scripted and unscripted programmes, including Big Mood, Tip Toe and 24 Hours in A&E.
The partners plan to make multiple new programmes available each year on Disney+ at the same time as their Channel 4 release. Selected titles detailed by Variety include the drama Maya, the comedy Stepping Up and the reality series Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.

The black, gold and green edition follows September’s sold-out preorders. Nintendo’s replenished launch-day stock also quickly sold out.

Channel 4 programming will sit in its own branded section, using Disney+’s usual navigation. Holmes said further Channel 4 shows would be added regularly, but declined to specify a number.
Dogra told The Hollywood Reporter that the agreement aims to reach viewers who might not otherwise come to Channel 4 as audiences look for programmes across several services. She said the arrangement would complement, rather than replace, Channel 4’s own broadcast, digital and streaming services, which would remain home to the vast majority of its programming.
The companies have not disclosed financial terms or an exact launch date. The partners plan to announce further details about launch timing and available programmes.

Her 16 September–October shows grossed $125.5 million and sold 539,000 tickets, setting records for revenue and attendance per performance.
