Disney renewed Coven Academy for a second season on 26 October, with creator Tim Federle continuing as an executive producer, The Hollywood Reporter said. Nielsen data also shows that half of viewers aged 12–17 and close to two-thirds aged 6–11 watched alongside an adult.
The series debuted on Freeform on 1 October, with the full first season available on Disney+ and Hulu on 2 October. Its story follows three teenage witches and their warlock classmates at an elite magic boarding school, where supernatural conflicts and romantic relationships threaten the students and their city.
Nielsen’s figures, published by Variety on 26 October, describe co-viewing: watching the show alongside another person. These figures measure the share of young viewers who watched with an adult, not viewing hours or social-platform views.
| Viewer age group | Share watching with an adult |
|---|---|
| 12–17 | Half |
| 6–11 | Close to two-thirds |

The black, gold and green edition follows September’s sold-out preorders. Nintendo’s replenished launch-day stock also quickly sold out.

Disney says the first season accumulated 20.3 million global viewing hours on Disney+ and Hulu in its first three weeks. The opening chapter, released on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube, drew more than 30 million views, Deadline said on 26 October, citing Disney. The social-platform total counts views, not hours watched, so the two totals cannot be added.
Over its premiere weekend, Coven Academy ranked first among streaming series for viewers aged 12–17 and in the top five among all viewers, measured by views rather than viewing hours. Nielsen supplied those rankings.
The first season consists of 21 short chapters, nine of which premiered on Freeform. Episodes range from 10 to 22 minutes. Federle said the chapter breaks fall where a cable show might pause for a commercial, allowing the next instalment to pick up straight away. He said he hoped that structure would encourage viewers to keep watching.
The second season will continue the story. Disney has not announced a premiere date.

Her 16 September–October shows grossed $125.5 million and sold 539,000 tickets, setting records for revenue and attendance per performance.
