Eric Bauza, the Emmy-winning voice actor known for playing Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, has died at 46, his family announced on Instagram on 25 October, The Hollywood Reporter said. Los Angeles County Medical Examiner records cited by Variety identify hypertensive cardiovascular disease as the cause of his death.
The records say Bauza died at home on 25 October. Hypertensive cardiovascular disease is disease of the heart and blood vessels associated with high blood pressure.
His family had described his death as sudden and said more details would follow.
Bauza began as a character designer working with Hollywood production studios, his biography at SBV Talent, which represented him, said. He later voiced Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck in Looney Tunes Cartoons and, alongside several other characters, in Coyote vs. Acme, released earlier in 2026. Most of those film roles originated with the late Mel Blanc.
His Space Jam: A New Legacy roles included Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Foghorn Leghorn, Elmer Fudd and Marvin the Martian. His performances as the title character in The Adventures of Puss in Boots, Fozzie in Muppet Babies, and Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck in Looney Tunes Cartoons earned nominations across the Daytime Emmy, Children’s & Family Emmy and Annie Awards.
