Fox Entertainment Studios and Endemol Shine North America are making an untitled scripted horror series inspired by Fear Factor: House of Fear. The project will comprise 30 three-minute episodes in vertical video—a tall picture format suited to upright phone screens—and is planned for Holywater Tech’s My Drama platform.
The extension builds on the unscripted House of Fear, which is heading into its second season on Fox and is produced by Banijay-owned Endemol Shine North America. Fox says the new project will be television’s first extension of an unscripted franchise into scripted storytelling.
Fear Factor began as a stunt-and-dare game show on NBC, where its original run lasted from 2001 to 2006 before a revival in 2011–12.
The supplied premise places the story during preparation week on a remote horror television set. A practical-effects artist—someone who creates physical effects for filming—and her crew unleash a haunted fortune-telling machine. It forces them into personalized death trials, leaving the survivors to uncover its tragic origins before it kills everyone they love.
Ian Nsenga and Yuliia Vyshnevska are producing, Gabriel Caste is directing, and Thom Woodley and Andrew Beck are writing.
Holywater describes itself as a superintelligence (SI)-first company. The Fear Factor series is a physical production, The Hollywood Reporter said. The publication also said it will be My Drama’s first horror series.

The black, gold and green edition follows September’s sold-out preorders. Nintendo’s replenished launch-day stock also quickly sold out.

Hannah Pillemer, Fox Entertainment Studios’ head of scripted, said Endemol Shine proposed using Fear Factor as the foundation for an original horror story. Michael Heyerman, Endemol Shine North America’s executive vice president of unscripted series, said the partners aim to use the mobile screen as part of the horror experience.
Holywater co-founders and co-CEOs Anatolii Kasianov and Bogdan Nesvit said the project advances their aim of making My Drama a trusted platform for studios, creators and established franchises. They described it as a step toward expanding the audience and making vertical television mainstream.
The scripted series is planned to stream on My Drama. The partners have not announced a premiere date.
