GitHub urges Actions users to check network access rules

GitHub says organisations that approve individual GitHub Actions storage hosts must add two new address ranges. In its October 22 update, the company warns that leaving them out risks interruptions to job summaries and logs.
The additions expand the storage addresses used by Actions. GitHub says it is adding them to improve capacity and reliability. The change affects network allowlists: rules that specify which hosts a network permits users or systems to access.
GitHub asks organisations using individual-host rules to allow every host in both ranges below, including the first and last addresses.
| First host | Last host |
|---|---|
productionresultssa30.blob.core.windows.net | productionresultssa49.blob.core.windows.net |
productionresultssa100.blob.core.windows.net | productionresultssa199.blob.core.windows.net |
Organisations already allowing productionresultssa*.blob.core.windows.net need no changes for these additions, GitHub says. The asterisk is a wildcard that covers matching hostnames, including the new ranges.
GitHub has not specified a deadline for adding the hosts. Administrators can retrieve the current endpoint list through GitHub’s REST API endpoints for metadata—a software interface for requesting that information. GitHub says its meta API already includes the new hosts.
