A reported agreement requires referees to answer Movistar and DAZN questions after two matches per round, starting in round 11 of the 2026/27 season.

Referees in Spain’s top football league, La Liga, are to give live interviews after two matches per round from round 11 of the 2026/27 season. Armsport reported the arrangement on October 23, citing Mundo Deportivo journalist Ramón Fuentes. Journalists from broadcast-rights holders Movistar and DAZN will ask the questions.
Referees have already been giving short interviews before selected matches since the season began, Armsport reports. Broadcasters have also been allowed to film inside referees’ dressing rooms before games. The new obligation adds live questioning after matches.
According to Fuentes’s reporting, La Liga proposed the initiative. The arrangement has been formally agreed with the Royal Spanish Football Federation, the referees’ committee led by Fran Soto and the referees’ union as part of a new collective agreement.
The interviews were initially planned for the second half of the season. The parties agreed to bring the introduction forward to round 11, according to the report, when viewers will begin hearing referees answer questions after the selected fixtures.
