Atlético Madrid beat Deportivo 1–0 at home in Round 10 of the 2026/27 La Liga season, Spain’s top football division, for their sixth consecutive league win. Real Madrid’s subsequent 2–1 victory at Barcelona on 25 October ended Barcelona’s nine-win league start and cut Madrid’s deficit from six points to three. Atlético remained second, two points behind Barcelona and one ahead of Madrid.
Julián Álvarez scored Atlético’s winner in the 48th minute from Álex Grimaldo’s pass. It was the forward’s first league goal of the season. Deportivo’s winless run reached six matches, leaving them in mid-table on 11 points.
Kylian Mbappé scored both Madrid goals in the Clásico, the meeting between Real Madrid and Barcelona. He opened the scoring in the 41st minute. Raphinha equalised in the 61st from Pedri’s pass, before Mbappé scored the late winner.
Madrid’s winning counterattack ended with Eduardo Camavinga cutting the ball back for Mbappé to finish into an empty net. The Guardian’s live account places the winner in the 87th minute; Armsport’s account places it in the 88th.
Armsport said Barcelona defender Xavi Espart could not continue and left the match in the 30th minute, with Alejandro Balde replacing him.

Kylian Mbappé scores twice, including an 87th-minute winner that is his 100th Madrid goal, as Barcelona suffer their first league defeat.
