Lionsgate has promoted Scott Herbst from executive vice president and head of development to president of its Television Group. His expanded responsibilities cover development, current programming—the oversight of shows already in production—casting, music and scripted digital series.
Kevin Beggs, the group’s chair and chief creative officer, announced the promotion. Herbst will continue reporting to Beggs, The Hollywood Reporter said.
Herbst joined Lionsgate in 2018. The leadership changes follow Sandra Stern’s departure as Television Group vice chairman in March 2026 after 23 years at the studio; she remains a long-term consultant. In a February 19, 2026 Variety article, Stern said she wanted to try something new and pursue interests beyond television.
Head of current programming Lee Hollin and head of casting Marcello Bellisario have signed new long-term deals. Both will report to Herbst, alongside head of television music Russell Ziecker.
Hollin joined Lionsgate in 2018 and became executive vice president of television and head of current programming the following year. His work includes overseeing The Recruit and Mythic Quest. Bellisario joined in 2014 and has overseen casting for series including The Hunting Wives and The Studio.
Beggs said Herbst’s relationships, creative instincts and record of identifying distinctive material suited him to the expanded role. Herbst said he intended to build on the team’s work with Hollin, Bellisario and the other executives.
The promotion follows earlier renewals of 12 of Lionsgate’s 13 current scripted series, including The Studio and The Hunting Wives. Those renewals were already in place before the leadership announcement.
On the existing slate, The Hunting Wives has already received an early third-season renewal, with its second season scheduled to premiere on Thanksgiving Day.

The black, gold and green edition follows September’s sold-out preorders. Nintendo’s replenished launch-day stock also quickly sold out.
