Music charts: MAZZEL scores first Japan Hot 100 No. 1 with “Touch”
Strong radio, download and video rankings lift the single above Naniwa Danshi’s sales-leading “Moonlit.” MAZZEL leader TAKUTO hopes the song will reach more people and remain loved for years.

MAZZEL’s “Touch” debuted atop the Billboard Japan Hot 100 released 28 October 2026, giving the group its first overall chart leader. The result covers 19–25 October.
“Touch,” the title track of MAZZEL’s 5th single, and “Moonlit,” the title track of Naniwa Danshi’s 11th single, were both released 21 October. Their chart debuts produced different leaders: “Moonlit” led purchases, while “Touch” accumulated enough points across several measures to finish first overall.
Why the sales leader finished second
The Japan Hot 100 combines 6 measures: physical sales, digital sales, audio streams, radio airplay, video views and karaoke. Billboard Japan uses calculation weights to balance purchases with listening and viewing activity, rather than treating their raw counts as interchangeable.
| Song | Overall result | Physical copies | Downloads |
|---|---|---|---|
| MAZZEL — “Touch” | Debuts at No. 1 | 120,498 (No. 3) | 9,264 (No. 2) |
| Naniwa Danshi — “Moonlit” | Debuts at No. 2 | 407,879 (No. 1) | 15,153 (No. 1) |
| Lienel — “Ai no Dabada” | Rises from No. 38 to No. 3 | 358,532 (No. 2) | — |
“Touch” also ranked No. 2 on radio, No. 3 on video views and No. 14 on streaming. “Ai no Dabada” reached No. 18 on streaming.
The songs and the next weekly result
Naniwa Danshi is a 7-member Japanese boy band whose debut single, “Ubu Love,” was released on 12 November 2021. “Moonlit” is the theme song for the film Uruwashi no Yoi no Tsuki (In the Clear Moonlit Dusk), starring group member Shunsuke Michieda.
In a comment published by Billboard Japan, MAZZEL leader TAKUTO thanked supporters and said the members celebrated together. He said the group intended to keep working steadily and hoped “Touch” would be loved by more people for a long time.
Billboard Japan normally tracks activity from Monday through Sunday and publishes the Japan Hot 100 on Wednesday around 14:00 Japan time (09:00 Yerevan time). The next weekly result will establish whether “Touch” retains the lead or another song replaces it.
