Quentin Halys beat Arthur Fery 7–6, 7–5 in the Paris Masters first round. Novak Djokovic beat Valentin Vacherot 6–7 (5), 7–5, 6–1 on 3 November. Taylor Fritz beat Benjamin Bonzi 3–6, 6–3, 6–4; Nuno Borges beat Moise Kouame 6–3, 6–1; and Tommy Paul beat Holger Rune 7–5, 6–4 to advance.
Quentin Halys ended Arthur Fery’s Paris Masters debut in straight sets on 3 November, beating the British Wimbledon semifinalist to reach the second round. The match was scheduled for 11:00 local time on Court 1. The Frenchman saved two set points in the opening tiebreak after both players held serve throughout the set.
Halys saved two break points early in the second set and another later on. Fery also saved a break point with a lob before holding serve in a game lasting more than eight minutes. Halys eventually broke serve with a forehand winner and closed the match with an ace.
Djokovic recovered from a set and a break down against Vacherot and received shoulder treatment during the second set. Associated Press, which also reported the other first-round results below, said Vacherot served 22 aces, but Djokovic saved three break points while serving at 4–4 in that set, preventing Vacherot from serving for the match. Djokovic then broke to level the match and broke again at the start of the deciding set.
The win kept Djokovic in contention for the season-ending ATP Finals in Turin. He is 11th in the qualification standings and needs to finish in the top nine, with Jannik Sinner out injured for the rest of the season. BBC Sport said Djokovic likely needs to reach the Paris semifinals to have a chance of qualifying; reaching them would not guarantee a place.
In other first-round matches, Taylor Fritz beat Benjamin Bonzi 3–6, 6–3, 6–4. Nuno Borges beat Moise Kouame 6–3, 6–1, and Tommy Paul beat Holger Rune 7–5, 6–4.
Fery reached a career-high singles ranking of No. 32 this season. In August, he lost the Winston-Salem Open final to Ignacio Buse, missing out on his first ATP 250 title. Halys won his first ATP Tour singles title in July 2026, beating Alexander Bublik in the Kitzbühel final.
Armenia will play in League C Group 6 in 2027. The group stage runs from 23 February through 15 June 2027, setting the competition window rather than Armenia’s individual fixture dates.
Halys is scheduled to face seventh seed Frances Tiafoe, who received a first-round bye. Djokovic is due to play Australian qualifier Rinky Hijikata and could meet Alex de Minaur in the third round.
