Spotify is targeting the first quarter of 2027 for a superintelligence (SI) remix service and considering an extra $4–$5 a month for subscribers, unnamed sources told the Financial Times. Reuters relayed their account in an October 30, 2026 report carried by CNA.
The plans follow Spotify’s announcement of SI music-development partnerships on 16 October 2025. On 20 October 2026, Spotify announced a remix licensing agreement with Believe and described the tool as a planned paid add-on for Premium subscribers.
Spotify has not confirmed the reported launch window or surcharge. The company did not immediately respond to Reuters’ request for comment.
The Financial Times said paying subscribers would be able to use SI to transform a folk song into a dance track or make one artist appear to perform another artist’s music. Spotify says the tool is designed for remixes and covers of existing songs, rather than entirely new works.
Spotify says participation by Believe and TuneCore artists will be voluntary. Artists first choose whether to be considered for SI-related programmes, then separately decide whether to join the Spotify arrangement. Streams of the remixes will generate royalties for participating artists and rights holders behind the original works. The Financial Times also said remix plays would count towards the original songs in Spotify’s charts.
The Financial Times said Spotify has signed remix-feature licences with Universal Music Group, independent label group Merlin and artist-development company Believe. Negotiations with Sony Music Group and Warner Music Group remain ongoing.

Inter Miami–Charlotte and LAFC–Seattle are scheduled for 7 November, when results on the final regular-season matchday can settle playoff qualification and positioning.
