Capcom has disabled Street Fighter V’s online functions during emergency security maintenance, and the game was temporarily off sale on Steam by October 27. The developer and publisher said sales on Steam and PlayStation Store would be suspended in stages until a fix was complete, in a statement quoted by Rock Paper Shotgun.
Rock Paper Shotgun linked the disruption to a security weakness in the PHP programming language and related online-service shutdowns that began the previous week.
Existing owners can still play Street Fighter V offline, including Arcade Mode. Ranked play and costume purchases are unavailable while online functions remain disabled.
Capcom has not specified exactly how Street Fighter V could be vulnerable. Rock Paper Shotgun described the previous week’s breach of the Capcom ID service as seemingly unrelated to the game’s problem.
Capcom has not given dates for restoring online functions or store availability. The company says the staged sales suspension will last until the fix is complete.

The black, gold and green edition follows September’s sold-out preorders. Nintendo’s replenished launch-day stock also quickly sold out.
