Disney+ has bought UK second-window rights to The Walsh Sisters in a deal brokered by the show’s distributor, Cineflix Rights. Deadline disclosed the agreement on October 26. “Second window” means the series will reach Disney+ after it has played on the BBC, rather than premiere there in the UK.
The BBC and Irish broadcaster RTÉ comedy-drama adapts Marian Keyes’s book series. Set and filmed in Dublin, it follows five sisters and their parents through family disputes, secrets and everyday life.
Cineflix Rights also secured the following sales alongside the Disney+ agreement.
| Territory | Buyer |
|---|---|
| Norway | TV2 |
| Sweden | TV4 |
| Finland | MTV Oy |
| The Balkans | Pickbox |
| Israel | Yes |
These agreements follow Stan’s earlier involvement in Australia and the recent acquisition of the series for the US by Roku’s Howdy streaming service.

The black, gold and green edition follows September’s sold-out preorders. Nintendo’s replenished launch-day stock also quickly sold out.
